School District of Janesville Summer Meals
Summer is coming soon. You may be thinking about what your child will do for meals while school is out. The good news is that the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners in your local community to serve free meals. It’s food that’s in, while school is out.

There are no income requirements and any child age 18 and under may come to eat. Meals will be provided from June 13, 2016-July 8, 2016 at sites listed on the attached flyer.  There are no meals served on July 4, 2016.

2016-2017 Breakfast in the Classroom Parent Information

2016-17 School Year, Instead of doing breakfast club in the cafeteria, we will be doing breakfast in the classroom (BIC).  This model has shown much success at other schools in the district.  Because of the success at other schools, the district will be moving towards BIC at the elementary level district-wide.  This gives every child a chance to eat, it eliminates milk fees and has other benefits.  The arrival time will be 8:05 for all students that are not in BASICS or riding the bus.  This change is why we are starting to communicate about this now so you will have an opportunity to make before school arrangements before school starts in September.

Please read the attached for more information.
